Warehouse Manager

Employment Status: Full-Time/Regular
Reports To: Director of Supply Chain
Location: Idaho Falls
Shift(s): Day

Job Summary:

Manages all the departments of the warehouse---Inventory, Material Handling, Receiving & Shipping. Will oversee the safe receipt, storage, retrieval and timely dispatch of goods.

Duties and Responsibilites:

  • Ensures workplace health and safety requirements are met.
  • Establishes operational procedures for activities, such as verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of materials, and keeping warehouse inventory current.
  • o Which includes weekly cycle counting of Company and Customer owned inventory.
  • Researches inventory discrepancies and makes adjustments on MRP system as necessary.
  • Inspects physical condition of warehouse and equipment and prepares work order for repairs and requisitions for replacement of equipment.
  • Confers with department heads to ensure coordination of warehouse activities with activities, such as production, sales, records control, and purchasing.
  • Screens and hires warehouse personnel and issues work assignments.
  • Directs salvage of damaged or used material.
  • Must be able to perform the essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation without posing a direct threat to the individual or others.
  • Prepare and maintain Logistic related SOPs
  • Create reports relating to delivery dates of purchase orders and parts production.
  • Negotiation of freight rates & services with carriers.
  • Identify operational reporting needs and supply periodic analytics to management.
  • Research and resolve issues regarding freight and customs billings.
  • Create and update container loading instructions
  • Plan and arrange routing of international loads with freight forwarder and domestic freight
  • Ensure timely arrival of products to various locations throughout the world at competitive rates
  • Complete analysis and incorporate improvements as processes change and/or new tools are developed.
  • Consolidate freight by location
  • Manage costs for expedited freight
  • Maintain freight system
  • Maintain delivered cost/load amounts for each inventory item in our MRP system
  • Educate employees on the best rates for parcel
  • Review freight spend periodically with each department to identify areas of improvement
  • Manage pickup timing so materials arrive no sooner than the longest lead time item in a customer’s order
  • Determine the appropriate pickup frequency for each lane based on order volume and freight cost for the lane
  • Determine when it is appropriate to insure shipments, and the value for which they should be insured
  • Accomplishes all tasks as appropriately assigned or requested
  • Performs other duties as assigned or needed for this job.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of Associates Degree, Bachelor’s Degree desired or 2-3 years experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficient in the use of personal computers; Microsoft Word and Excel software.
  • Experience using freight optimization software is preferred.
  • Strong analytical understanding and capacity to perform analytical functions.
  • Understanding of Supply chain management in a wholesale distribution environment.
  • Ability to work well with internal and external customers.
  • Fork-lift certified.
  • Able to lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
  • Ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision.
  • Perform essential duties and responsibilities efficiently, accurately and safely.
